Boxer Ryan Garcia has released a two-minute apology video directed at his ex-wife Andrea Celina, following days of controversy surrounding a viral video allegedly showing him vandalizing her home.
In the video, Garcia expresses regret and reveals his decision to seek help. “I’m here to apologize. Andrea, you’re the mother of my children and someone I will always love and respect,” Garcia, also known as KingRy, stated. “I take back all the accusations against her. She never took money from me. She never wronged me. She never cheated on me.”
Garcia went on to clarify, “We weren’t together, so she couldn’t have cheated. She’s a wonderful woman.”
This apology comes in the wake of accusations that the 24-1 boxer verbally attacked Celina for allegedly cheating on him and causing damage to their residence. Garcia has also been accused of causing destruction during the incident.
Currently serving a boxing suspension due to testing positive for a banned substance after his match against Devin Haney, Garcia emphasized his need for assistance, acknowledging he has “lost everything.” “You’ll see changes in me in the coming months,” Garcia pledged.
Garcia, a 25-year-old from California, has faced a tumultuous period recently. Apart from the issues with his ex-wife and the Haney fight, he was arrested for allegedly damaging a Waldorf Astoria hotel room in Beverly Hills. Furthermore, he was expelled from the WBC after using a racial slur on social media, an action for which he has since apologized.
