It appears likely that Tottenham will sell Spence within two years of acquiring him for £20 million

Tottenham are in ongoing discussions with Genoa regarding the permanent transfer of full-back Djed Spence, who spent last season on loan with them. After his stint at Leeds was prematurely ended, the 23-year-old joined the Italian side for the latter part of the campaign, featuring in 16 matches as they finished 11th.

Spence began his senior career at Middlesbrough before playing a significant role on loan at Nottingham Forest, helping them secure promotion to the Premier League in 2021-22. Following that success, Antonio Conte brought the England youth international to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in a deal reportedly valued at £20 million the subsequent summer.

However, Spence has struggled to secure regular playing time in North London, making only four Premier League appearances for the club.

Meanwhile, AC Milan is also engaged in negotiations for Emerson Royal, although they are yet to meet Spurs’ £21 million asking price.

Furthermore, Luton and Millwall have expressed interest in former Spurs defender Japhet Tanganga.
