Another court orders eviction of Sanusi
In Kano, a Federal High Court has decreed the eviction of the reinstated Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, from Gidan Rumfa Palace. Justice S. A. Amobeda, delivering the verdict on Tuesday, May 28, emphasized that the decision was made in the interest of justice and peace in Kano.

Additionally, the court instructed the police to ensure that all rights and privileges entitled to the 15th Emir of Kano, Aminu Bayero, are duly accorded to him.

The ex parte order stated:

“An interim injunction is hereby issued, restraining the Respondents, their agents, servants, associates, or any other individual or authority from summoning, apprehending, detaining, threatening, intimidating, harassing, raiding, tampering with, or visiting the Applicant’s residence for the purpose of arrest or violation of his rights, or in any other manner infringing upon or attempting to infringe upon the Applicant’s rights, pending the hearing and determination of the Originating Motion.”

“An injunction is issued, restraining the 3rd, 4th, and 5th Respondents, along with all other Respondents, from preventing the applicant from utilizing his official residence and palace at the Emir’s Palace, Kofar Kudu. The order also guarantees the applicant’s entitlement to all rights and privileges inherent in his position as Emir of Kano State, and prohibits the eviction of any individuals or items residing within the palace unlawfully, pending the hearing and determination of the originating summons.”
