Singer Billy Ray Cyrus accuses wife of unauthorized credit card charges

Country singer Billy Ray Cyrus has accused his wife, Firerose, of making unauthorized charges on his business American Express card. The divorce proceedings between Billy Ray and Firerose have escalated, with Billy Ray now seeking a temporary restraining order to prevent her from accessing his finances. In court documents, Billy Ray alleges that Firerose placed 37 unauthorized charges totaling $96,986.05 between May 23 and June 7. He asserts that he never granted her access to his cards or accounts, emphasizing they did not file joint tax returns. Billy Ray has requested the court to approve an emergency motion to block Firerose’s access to his financial accounts and to reimburse him for the charges.

In response, Firerose has contested these claims, stating in court documents that Billy Ray misunderstood her access privileges, claiming she has been authorized to use his credit cards since they started living together in 2022. She argues for the continuation of using his funds for personal and household expenses, including attorney fees during their marriage. Additionally, Firerose’s legal representation has clarified that a significant portion of the charges has already been returned to Billy Ray, citing a misunderstanding in the intended amount charged to Firerose.

Separately, Billy Ray has initiated legal proceedings to annul their seven-month marriage, alleging fraud. This dispute over credit card charges is distinct from the initial divorce and annulment filing.
