Officials from the Makurdi Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have apprehended three siblings on suspicion of engaging in internet fraud.
The individuals were apprehended in the New Garage area of Wadata, Makurdi on Friday, May 17, 2024. According to a statement released by the commission on Sunday, May 19, the suspects, Abubakar Sadiq Adejoh, Mohammed Habib Adejoh, and Solomon Adejoh, are believed to specialize in transferring customers’ funds from their accounts to a Point of Sale (POS) terminal for withdrawal.
Among the items confiscated from them were a vehicle, six mobile phones, a laptop, and a sum of N3,562,750.00 (Three Million Five Hundred and Sixty-Two Thousand, Seven Hundred and Fifty Naira) in cash. Upon the completion of the inquiry, they will be brought before a court of law.
