There is unrest in Kano as young people armed with machetes dominate the streets following the Emir situation (video)

There’s tension in Kano as supporters of Emir Lamido Sanusi and his predecessor, Aminu Ado-Bayero, clashed on the streets with weapons after the former Emir’s return.

Sanusi Lamido Sanusi was reinstated as the Emir of Kano on Friday, May 24, by Governor Abba Yusuf. However, Aminu Ado-Bayero, the deposed Emir, returned to the city on Saturday, May 25, and headed to the Gidan Nasarawa palace since the Gidan Rumfa palace was already occupied by the reinstated Emir Muhammad Sanusi II.

Governor Addo Yusuf has issued orders for the arrest of the deposed Emir for escalating tensions in the city.
