A Utah teen experienced a harrowing event when struck by lightning during a church hike, as captured in startling video footage.
Jacob Johnson, 18, was part of a group from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints hiking in Salina Canyon on June 27.
As rain intensified, the thunderbolt hit, causing panic among the teens. Johnson, walking through muddy terrain, felt the earth-shaking impact and later recalled feeling like he was struck with a baseball bat before losing consciousness. Miraculously, he survived, waking up disoriented and initially believing he had died.
